“Ankle Boots” it’s not a term you'd generally use when thinking about men's fashion, but the truth is that many of us wear them. We just call them fancy names, like “Desert boots” or “Chelsea boots”. Regardless of their names, though, they are ankle boots.

As far as footwear fashion goes, they're one of the most difficult styles of shoe to wear, and certainly difficult as far as boots are concerned. They sit at that height that makes it confusing as to whether you should tuck your jeans/trousers in or out, let them rest on the top or fit them in the shoe.

Next, it’s important that you understand that whilst it might appear difficult to dress well when wearing ankle boots, they are actually a much more versatile style of shoe than you might imagine. You can wear them with all sorts of different types of clothing. You can dress up a pair of casual jeans and a shirt (a perfect look for a nightclub), but you can also wear them with a suit for a semi-formal look (ideal for an office or boardroom meeting).

If you wear them with jeans, you need to be careful about the way you roll the bottom of your trousers. You only need a slight cuff. You do not need to have bags of material at the ankle. A good way to minimise this is to grab the jeans with one hand so that you have a triangular bit of material, then tuck this in on itself, and then put the jeans in the shoe. This will minimise the amount of bagging. It also look sexy, but in a casual way. It’s great for a night out on the town.
